Diversity is Beautiful is a short documentary written and directed by Katherine Boynton, which won New York City’s Future Now Digital Storybook Competition in 2010. The film was featured that year on New York City’s Department of Education’s website. The documentary was filmed at The Academy for New Americans. Children from around the world were interviewed about their paintings of butterflies from their countries and why they felt their differences are a benefit to society and bring beauty to the world.
